Elements Naperville Wedding

Welcome to a wonderful Elements Naperville Wedding!

I love it when I get to work with families I have worked with before. Several years ago I photographed a wedding for Lindsay’s brother in Munster Indiana. I was really excited when Lindsay and Jake reached out to me for their wedding. It says a lot and means the world to me when couples have seen me work at weddings and love the results. As a great bonus I got to see Dana and Andy again too.

The Indigo Hotel in Naperville Rocks!

Our day started at The Indigo Hotel in Naperville. The room where the girls got ready was stunning and a previous wedding party, or some really awesome staff had left hangers up for the girls dresses. The hangers were placed perfectly above the main window.

Krissy Vanderwoude was doing all the make up when I arrived in the room. I cannot count how many times I have worked with Krissy. When I proposed to my wife a few years ago, she was the first vendor we contacted. That says all I need to say about how much I respect her work as an artist. Lindsay and her bridesmaids were stunning!

The whole hotel is a photographers dream because there are trendy nooks everywhere and some great natural light in the walkway.

I had to take advantage of that walkway and the stairs!

The lovely Chapel at Naper Settlement

The ceremony was in the beautiful Century Memorial Chapel in The Naper Settlement. This chapel was built in1864 and retains the original stained glass windows and gothic architecture. It is a dark venue and a challenge to photograph well, but Thankfully after 22 years of doing this I was up to the challenge even with the limited natural light.

After a wonderful bubble exit I spent some time on the riverwalk with Lindsay and Jake taking photos. It was prom night in Naperville and the normal places were packed with teens dressed up and taking photos. This was lovely to see, but tough to adapt to as far as finding spots for photos without people around. We went off the beaten path a little bit and managed to capture some creative photos anyway. I leaned on very wide aperture photos at time to just blur out any distracting backgrounds too haha.

I cannot say enough about how lovely Elements is on the inside! The wooden ceiling and rustic atmosphere, right by the water, is hard to beat.

DJ Shaun from Signature Entertainment added to the ambiance with stunning uplighting. He also kept the dance floor packed all night with very well mixed music.
