Journeyman Valparaiso Wedding
This was my first Journeyman Valparaiso Wedding. Alyse and Jung were actually one of the first couples to get married at the newest Journeyman Venue in North West Indiana. I had heard about how amazing the new space was, but none of the descriptions did the venue justice. This venue has been really well thought out.
Journeyman builds on a long history in Valparaiso
This historic building was once the Woolen Mill Company in the 1860s. It has housed various manufacturing industries over a long and productive history in Valparaiso. Now known as the “American Factory Building” the whole venue has been wonderfully restored maintaining historic touches mixed with Journeyman’s own flair for functional spaces.
Alyse started her day in the incredible bridal Suite on the West side of the event space upstairs. She was glowing as she prepared for a first look with Jung and her father.
After the fun first looks we did all the bridal party photos and some photos of Alyse and Jung together. It was a steamy hot and humid day, but thankfully there are endless indoor spaces awash with lovely daylight that we could use.
The ceremony site at Journeyman is right next to huge windows, every photographers friend haha. They had a very personal ceremony officiated by a special family friend.
DJ Boris from Precision Sound kept the party going from the moment the reception kicked off. I have worked with Boris many times over the years and he is a fun guy and real pro.
There were some short fun speeches before the emotional first dances and finally the party. I am a sucker for these emotional moments. I always try and get a few photos like this one below capturing the unscripted emotions of the dances. It is a special moment and deserves some candid close up captures.
I really hope I book more weddings at the Journeyman American Factory in Valparaiso. They had a high bar set with their Three Oaks Venue, and they really did hit it out the ballpark with another lovely venue.
Kids at weddings is sometimes a hot topic. I personally love kids at weddings. The two ushers were brothers and real characters. When I find characters it’s always fun to get a few extra pics of them. Jung’s little niece and nephew were also in the bridal party and I just loved their outfits and huge smiles.
Congratulations to Alyse and Jung on their lovely Journeyman Valparaiso Wedding.

A Unique Idea For Your Journeyman Valparaiso Wedding
Here’s a really cool idea. If you have your wedding at Journeyman in Valparaiso, you can have a whiskey barrel available for guests to sign. After the wedding they will fill it up and age it. A year or so later you can pick up a barrel of happy juice haha.
There was some crazy dancing at This Journeyman Valparaiso Wedding
