Genevieve and Payton had a wonderful InterContinental Chicago Wedding in late spring. The day started in the incredible Royal Suite high up in the InterContinental Hotel. The suite is an amazing two bedroom double story room with a lovely staircase and wide open living room area. This was great for all the detail photos as the bridal party got ready.

Lilly Jamoua from Makeup By LillyJam had already begun doing makeup when I arrived at 9:00 a.m to start photos. She was wonderful to work with, so good I actually added her to my recommended vendor list. https://shanelawrencephotography.com/wedding-vendors-i-love/

Genevieve was simply stunning with her hair and makeup done and we did a fun first look with the girls in the bridal party.

The ceremony was at Holy Name Cathedral. This is one of the largest Catholic Churches in Chicago. It is beautiful inside. I managed to get there with the men in the Limo bus before guests arrived to get a few photos of the incredible sanctuary.

I always love to get the grooms face as the bride walks down the aisle. It is one of the reasons I photograph wedding ceremonies with two cameras. I can use a wider lens and capture the groom and then spin around and swap to a longer lens to get the bride walking down the aisle.

After the ceremony we raced through some family portraits and a quick bridal party portrait to make sure we were out of the church 15 minutes after the ceremony ended as there was another wedding arriving. The plan from there was to visit a few iconic Chicago venues. WE went to the Lincoln Park Conservatory first. I had arranged photo permits and entrance for everyone ahead of time so we were able to walk in and quickly get a few bridal party photos.

The ChiTown limo bus was awesome and waited for us close by. From there we relaxed on the limo bus as it took us to the Buckingham Fountain for more photos. WE did a few group photos and then as we were leaving I got some great photos of the bride and groom walking back to the limo bus without too many people around them. Crowds can be hard to work around on weekends in Chicago.

After the fountain, the plan was to visit the Museum Campus area by the Aquarium, but time and traffic pushed us to head back towards the InterContinental area with a quick stop at the 4th Presbyterian Church for a few photos. I loved the arches and stone walls.

Finally our InterContinental Chicago Wedding continued back at the hotel. A few quick stops for some group photos and then a lovely reception. There are a few reception spaces in the InterContinental, web were in the Renaissance Room. It has wonderful tall ceilings and historic architecture.
