Chicago Indian Wedding
Roshni and Parth’s Chicago Indian wedding was a unique event. It was just as we were entering the covid lockdowns. They wanted to make sure they had a wonderful wedding, but they also had to keep it small and plan it fast.
We started the day with a lovely first look at a local park. We had some time to get some beautiful photos as they saw each other for the first time and then some details. I freaking love Indian weddings for several reasons, but one of the main ones are the colors.
We planned enough time alone with the couple before their families arrived.
This time allowed us to do some great portraits and focus in on some details of the things that were important to their outfits and culture.
After taking some family photos we went to the ceremony site.
It was so much fun capturing all the dancing and the outdoor ceremony events.
Chicago Indian Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony was a bright and joyful event.
Family and joy were two themes that ran through the whole celebration.
The giving of gifts is a special part of so many cultures around the world on wedding day. Indian weddings always have moments where families give the couple special gifts. It is a thoughtful addition to the ceremony. I love capturing all these moments.
Candid moments at this Chicago Indian Wedding
Due to covid and all the crazy, there was no big party after the ceremony. It was just how it had to be back then. I really missed all the dancing and food, there is always good food at Indian weddings and lots of it haha.
I hope you enjoyed these photos of this small Chicago Indian Wedding as much as I enjoyed taking them.
