Rose Garden Wedding

Lauren and Joe had an incredible Rose Garden Wedding Ceremony at Cantigny Park in June this last year.

I started the day with the girls at the Carriage house.
Jorie Jae was working on Makeup when I arrived. It was my first time working with Jorie. Hopefully the first of many more. She had all the ladies looking stunning and finished everyone well before we needed to be ready.

There were two hairdressers on hand. Both from Mane Haven in Lombard IL.
They had Lauren and all her bridesmaids done in good time as well. They all looked awesome too!
Summer can be rough on hair with outdoor ceremonies, but everyone’s hair was still great later in the day at reception time. That says a lot on a hot humid day haha.

Some moments at weddings are hard to put into words. It is a rare privilege to be present for some of the most treasured moments in someone else’s life.
These photos with Lauren and her mom say more than I could write.

I took Lauren and her bridesmaids to the McCormick house for some formal photos before the ceremony. This really helps save time between the ceremony and reception by getting these photos done before the ceremony.

Rose Garden Wedding Reception
The weather was typically warm for a late June wedding. Thankfully, just as the ceremony was due to start, a huge mass of fluffy white cloud floated in front of the sun. It was almost as if they had scheduled an overcast moment with a breeze just for the wedding. The breeze cooled us all off and the clods made the light so much better than the typical mid day sun.

People often ask me what some of my favorite moments are at weddings. This photo right here. Joey’s face as he saw his bride for the first time. These are the moments I live for on wedding day. Unscripted, raw and full of emotion. You cannot pose or recreate these moments. I work alone 90% of the time, but I had a good friend Kay working with me at this wedding. This left me free to really focus on just Lauren and Joey and their connection in the ceremony while Kay got wider angles and reactions from guests. It was a great combo!

After the ceremony, we were able to get some family photos done before we headed out with the bride party and the couple for some quick formals before the reception.

Le Jardin Room Reception
The rest of the wedding took place in Le Jardin. A wonderful space right by the rose garden with natural light washing in through the windows when we started.
6th and Foster had done an incredible job with the flowers all day. They had provided the girls flowers and some big flower arrangements for the Rose Garden wedding ceremony. The flowers in the reception Hal were just as awesome.

I hope you enjoyed this recap of this lovely Rose Garden Wedding.
