Hotel Baker Wedding Venue
I always get excited when I meet a couple planning a Hotel Baker wedding.
I have photographed a few wonderful weddings at Hotel Baker over the last ten years or so.
It is one of my favorite venues to work at.
In 1928 when Hotel Baker opened, it was one of the most modern hotels in America. No expense was spared as it went through designing and construction. Today this incredible historical building has undergone a thorough restoration and offers a very unique wedding venue.
Located on the river with incredible views of St Charles, it is hard to beat the ambience around the building. The garden and pathways to the outdoor ceremony site is a dream.
Outdoor ceremonies have the river as the backdrop. The trees offer wonderful shade in on warm days and lovely colors in the fall. It’s hard to beat the view here during ceremonies and the walk to the ceremony site offers a wonderful opportunity for candid moments.
In the image above Leah is escorted through the gardens to the outdoor ceremony site by her father. I love this long picturesque path. It gives photographers time to get great images and stay close enough to the ceremony site to also capture the grooms face as he sees his bride. Always a favorite photo for me to capture.
The reception room and dance floor are definitely unique. How many venues have a built in bottom lit dance floor and a wonderful oval shape. Add a two tier seating layout and you get a wonderful room for intimate ceremonies and stunning receptions.
The staff, the food and the whole ambience of Hotel Baker is hard to beat. I have photographed so many venues over many years and this remains one of my all time favorites. I have had couples who are getting married here do their engagement photos at and around the hotel, because the whole area is just so photogenic.
Here are some favorite photos of mine from The Hotel Baker wedding venue.
If you do choose to have a Hotel baker wedding and the weather turns, there is always the option of an indoor ceremony.
There are several wonderful spots throughout theHotel baker indoors and outdoors to do a first look. I never push a couple to do one. I am a hopeless romantic and love the first look as a bride enters the ceremony. That said it is hugely popular and has many advantages of photography timelines so I do not talk people out of them either.
Hotel Baker Wedding Ceremony Indoors
The dance floor with built in uplighting always photographs so well at receptions.
I recently booked two weddings at Hotel Baker for the same weekend. One is Friday and the next that Saturday. I’m so excited. I may just try and get a room at the hotel and stay over haha.
