City View Loft Chicago Wedding
What a Wedding Venue!
I remember meeting with Krista and Max and hearing about City View Loft Chicago for the first time. It sounded awesome. I was freaking excited when I looked online at the view, the venue inside and out and some past weddings.
On wedding day I arrived early at a local hotel and got some photos of everyone getting ready. It sounds crazy for Chicago in February, but it was warm enough to do a first look outside on the patio and some formals too. I think it was the warmest day all month.
Krista had obviously spent a lot of time planning her ceremony and reception decorations. The candles, flowers and whole mood of the venue was stunning. Krista had hired a dedicated decor company and the drapery, uplighting and candles were incredible.
This view out the window towards the city is exactly why City View Loft is named City View.
As the reception progressed there were lovely colors in the sky as the sun set.
One of my favorite moments was the first dance. It always is, but Krista and Max had taken the time to learn and rehearse an awesome first dance.
The reception area with rustic floors and bricks was such a pretty backdrop for the party after the ceremony. I was able to get upstairs and photograph the room during cocktail hour. As a wedding photographer I do find I prefer venues that can handle the ceremony, reception and cocktail hour all in one place. I love it more if the areas are separate so I can get all the details without people everywhere. I left Kristina to photograph the cocktail hour and had fun with the room and the view of the city.
Here are some favorite photos from the day.
